Simply Grinding -Large Grinder for Tobacco Herbs & Spices

I purchased this as a replacement for the grinder I have had for what seems like forever. I’m pleased with the construction of this grinder.  The only issue I have is it says on the box it comes with a proactive pouch but the pouch was not included. I actually dry my own herbs from my garden & like to grind them up a bit before using them in my cooking to release more of the aroma & flavor for my cooking. Since I don’t have a mortar & pestle at the moment I have been using my old grinder so this grinder has been a huge bonus for me. The old one I have is at least 10-15 years old & well used, so the teeth are now all dull. This new one has nice large sharp grinding teeth that make grinding the herbs an easy job. The magnet around the top has a solid hold. You can fill it & turn it upside down without fear of it opening & spilling the contents. I know what most people use these for and because of that, these handy little grinders get overlooked for kitchen use. It really is sad because I really think anyone who likes to cook should have one of these in their kitchen. The fine dust & particles caught in the pollen catcher I save to use in other cooking as because of its fine nature it makes a great addition to sauces & gravy’s to ad concentrated flavor. The quality of construction with this grinder is excellent & the pieces screw together smoothly. I have yet to try this with my fresh herbs & will update my review once I am able to start harvesting & using some of the fresh ones in my garden.

Pros:

Heavy duty design, so this grinder should last a good ling time. There is a nice strong magnet to hold lid tight when grinding. Nice sharp grinding teeth & a pollen catcher for all the fine particles.

Cons:

So far I really don’t have any issues with this grinder. I will be using it a lot in my kitchen so if any issues arise I will update my review accordingly

I would absolutely recommend this grinder, it’s not just for the smokers. I think every kitchen should have one & it’s sad that is it overlooked as a kitchen gadget just because it’s thought of as common drug paraphernalia. It really is a very convenient grinder to have

I purchased this to use with my PS4. When we move back down to our renovated place we will be mounting the TV on the wall & will be re organizing all our gaming gear & PS4 to set on the new table under the TV instead of behind the glass of a shelf system. Since we will have somewhere to set everything out I wanted to upgrade to the cooling fan stand. I was happy to come across this one that also includes charging ability for up to 4 controllers. 2 controllers can mount right into the stand & there is a USB hub to charge 2 more. I really wanted to give this 5 stars but I have some concerns about the stability of this stand & the shaky charger ports. So far it hasn’t been an issue, & I don’t know if I’m just being over paranoid about having my PS4 on the side like that, but I worry a little about it falling over. My other concern is that the controller charge ports seem a little loose. They are charging fine so far & work OK, but It kind of feels like they might come out & get stuck in my controller. Because of this I have to bring my rating down to 4 stars. I do like the fact that it also has the USB hub for charging additional controllers. The fan provides some cooling action for the unit so that is a bonus.

Pros:

Fan to help keep your PS4 cool, storage/charge ports for 2 controllers & can charge up to 4 controllers at one time using the additional 2 USB’s

Cons:

The docking station is powered by the PS4 with no plug in option. Controller ports seem kind of loose

So far I would recommend this to the casual adult gamer. Maybe not so much for someone who is not gaming 24/7, as I’m not sure the durability of the charging ports would hold up to a serious gamer & worry that they might break off in the controller if not handled with a bit of care..

Darjeeling Loose Leaf Masala Chai Tea

I got this because I’m a tea lover (especially when I am camping) I always prefer the loose teas over the bagged teas since it gives me more control over how I make my tea. Some teas I will use a little more, some a little less, some I add additional ingredients to. I was excited to get this tea as the write up & reviews seemed very enticing. I opened it right up as soon as it was delivered & was extremely pleased with the spice bold aroma. The combination of teas & the cardamom, cinnamon, clove & black pepper create a unique spiced flavor. Some (like my husband) may find the flavor a bit odd or off-putting if you’re not a fan of this type of spiced tea, but if you are like me, you will love this tea. It brews a little weak for my taste by the instructions, however if I let it steep a little longer it brings out a little more of the flavor

Pros:

Claims to promote calmness, reduce stress. Made with fresh high quality teas herbs & spices. Includes cloves, cinnamon and cardamoms which aid in everything from dental health, antioxidants, stress relief

Cons:

Has a very Unique flavor with the includes cloves, cinnamon and cardamoms mixed with the tea & might be a bit off-putting for some

If you’re used to spiced teas, I would happily recommend giving this one a try. If you like a darker tea, let it steep a little longer.

I had originally purchased this sharpener with the thought of bringing it to my 2 week camping event for my kitchen out there. Most the knives we have in storage out there for the camp kitchen are pretty sad & couldn’t really cut much & I wanted to have something everybody use. (Some people just aren’t good with a basic stone) At this point, I kind of want to keep it here at home...lol… I was excited to receive this & almost immediately opened it & tested it out on a couple of the old knives I have here at home. For anyone who has ever used a sharpener like this, you already know that there is bit of a knack to using them successfully. It’s all about the correct angel & speed. I would suggest if you have never used one of these before & your worried, you can start with a knife you don’t care about so you can get the feel for it on something that if you flub it up its not an issue. Generally it won’t take more than a couple swipes to pick it up.

****TIPS****

Place the sharpener on a firm surface and keep a firm hold on the device. Guide the blade of the knife at an angle of 90 ° to the sharpener into the slot. Hold the knife upright and pull it using light pressure straight from the base of the blade to the tip. - Repeat this process.

Using the first level (coarse), diamond-coated abrasive wheels sharpen your blunt knife. In the second level (fine), the ceramic slats can be used for the regular sharpening of blades as well as for fine sharpening following on from level 1.

****Do not pull the knife backwards and forwards****

Also suitable for serrated knives. In this case, use only level 2.

Pros:

Easily sharpen multiple types of knives with one unit. Three different choices of course, fine, & ceramic. Easy to use

Cons:

At the moment there is not much in the “con” category I have to say other than nothing beats a basic sharpening stone.  That not to say this is bad, because it’s not in any way. Jus that if you a fan of the old style, you will always be a fan of them.

In my opinion, I would easily recommend this sharpener to anyone looking for a great handheld multi-level sharpening tool

I purchased this because we do a lot of camping & I always like to have some fire starters on hand just in case, epically for the damp & rainy days. Normally I make my own by recycling all my empty egg cartons, empty toilet paper rolls, newspaper, lint (sawdust when I’m doing my woodworking) & ends of my candles. (This works great & I will likely continue to do this but not everyone is a crazy nut job who insists on repurposing everything I can) but when I saw these, I couldn’t resist giving them a shot. I must say I was very pleased when they arrived. (Since I won’t have my next camping event for a few more weeks, I decided to send a couple with a friend of mine who was able to attend one this past weekend. I got nothing but rave reviews back from them. They were very thrilled that I had given them a couple for the weekend.) First off, would like to note that these are nice & dense, yet have enough airflow to get them going really good very quickly. They have enough burn time to start up a really good fire in no time. I will have to say also, that I was expecting something that just smelled like unscented paraffin wax, but they actually has a kind of nice scent to them. Nothing major or anything, but just enough to actually give me a nice at ease feeling. I love the fact that they are made of recycled ingredients & due to the simplicity of them (newspaper, wax & cardboard) they will last you indefinitely.  This is great if you won’t be using them much, as this nice large bag will last you a while & you won’t have to worry about them not working when you get around to using them

Pros:

Very well made & dense fire starter. Great for starting a fire on the moist, damp or rainy days. Lasts long enough to get even damp wood burning good.. Made of recycled newspaper, cardboard and wax (got to love a product that is using recycled ingredients. 2 thumbs up for GOING GREEN)

Cons:

There is not much bad I can say about this product. If I happen to have any other information after I personally use them I will update my review accordingly, (my next event is 2 weeks long) . But really.. I just can’t say anything bad about these

I would recommend these in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a simpler way to start a fire. These are great for your home fire pit of while you’re camping. Since they will essentially last you forever until you use them, they are great to keep stocked in your cabin or RV, or toss one or 2 into a zip lock for your bugout bag.. You really just can’t go wrong here

I purchased this because I was looking for something to help with issues of muscle soreness & tightness from working all day.  Trying to get help sometimes from my husband most times is difficult as he also works a lot. I have never used anything like this before so I really had no idea what to expect or how to really use it. Luckily this massage tool comes with a downloadable eBook & & lifetime access to how-to videos and user guides. It is very easy to use. To be honest, you can get away with using it successfully without even checking out any of the information. It seems very well made & long enough for me to actually use on my own back to a degree (but I need help if I really want to get my back good). I will have to say though, that the best thing for me is how well it works on my neck. I have a lot of issues with that between permanent subluxations that require regular attention.  I am very happy to add this to my drawer of massage items.

Pros:

Very well made with strong stainless steel inner core & a nice usable size at 18” (massage surface about 8”).  Multiple plastic rollers that feel just fantastic.  Simple for anyone to use & comes with a downloadable eBook & lifetime access to how-to videos and user guides that are actually helpful.

Cons:

I wouldn’t say it really gets into the “deep Tissue” as it states in the title (have to deduct a star for that), but it does a pretty good job nun the less. If using it for your back, you may need some additional help

I would confidently recommend this as something that is a good addition to your massage tools (Yea, I have massage balls, massage stones, & a plethora of other items…lol & each one is necessary in its own right)

Culinary Torch -Creme Brulee Torch - Kitchen Torch - Best Crème Brulee Torch

 I picked this up because we have been renovating our kitchen after a house fire & I’m in the process of replacing all the item we lost in the fire (and a few more..lol) I had an old really cheap one of these that barley worked anymore before the fire, so I was very excited to get a new one. My first impression of this torch was very positive. It feel well made & is much sturdier than my old one. I saw some other reviews saying they had some issues with filling it, I personally did not have that issue with filling mine, since I also bought butane that had 5 different size filling tips (given the reviews of people with issues filling theirs), so my personal opinion is that there is a good chance that those who had issues with filling it may have been just using the wrong size tip.  It did take me a couple tries to find the correct size & the issues they were having are similar to that of using the wrong size tip. My test run of this Crème Brulee Torch went really well. It lit really easily & was actually quite a bit more powerful than my old one. I am really looking forward to being able to move all my stuff into the new kitchen so I can get some better use with this. At the moment we are living with limited space so everything is getting packed for the move back down. Once I have full access to my kitchen I will be able to update my review with some better pictures of the wonderful culinary creations I’m looking forward to making

Butane Torch lighting tips

Prior to refilling a butane torch, you will need to drain any fuel and air remaining from the torch. A small screwdriver press the fuel-refilling nozzle, to get rid of the surplus fuel. You should hear a hissing sound as the fuel and air escapes. ( This is usually on the bottom of the torch) Be sure to turn the flame adjustment screw, knob or lever to off or the lowest setting before attempting to refuel your torch. You may also have a “on/off” switch of some sort. Turn the butane torch upside down so the refill inlet nozzle is visible.  Insert the nozzle of your butane torch fuel canister and press the canister towards the torch and hold, the nozzle on the fuel canister will press in.  This will allow the fuel to flow into the torch.  (Using the wrong size tip may cause issues) Do this for 5 seconds or so.  If your torch has a fuel window you can check the level of fuel by looking at the window.  There is no need to pump the fuel canister while fueling. Once the torch is full, let it sit a few moments until the fuel reaches room temperature. Because the butane fuel is compressed in the fuel container is will be colder than room temperature. When it warms, the fuel will expand. If your torch will not light, turn the flame adjustment screw or adjustment knob a 1/4 turn and attempt once more. Keep re-adjusting the screw or knob in 1/4 turn increments until the torch ignites. You should only use triple refined or better butane fuel as this is a very clean burning fuel and will help to keep you torch in top working order. The more refined the better for culinary use

Pros:

This torch is well made 7 easy to use & I love the Anti-Flare technology with Safety Lock on this. The window on the canister is great for keeping an eye on the level of butane. Cons:

Some people have experienced issues with filling this torch. However if you make sure to get a good butane that comes with multiple size tips & make sure you bleed the torch before filling, I believe you will be able to avoid this issue.  

I really do like this culinary torch & I would totally recommend this as something every kitchen needs. I purchased this for my sister & her new baby. I was very pleased with my purchase. There is a ton of fabric with this piece so it offers several different ways of using this product depending on the way you wrap it. The fabric is nice & soft & has a bit of give to it. It does come with instructions to do basic wraps but if you really want to get the most out of it you will need to do some research on wrap patterns. If you google the search term Baby “Wrap instructions” & then narrow it down to images you will find a ton of different wrapping options. It really is amazing how many different styles of wrapping that can be done with it making it truly versatile.

Pros:

Hands free baby swaddling, perfect for privacy with breast feeding,

I would 100% recommend this product for any new parent to keep baby close to your heart yet still be hands free to keep active.

I have been looking for a good source for Linen as I create historical costuming & linen fabric is period & preferred in historical reenactments.  I am pleased to say that I am very happy with the samples I received & the pricing is fair for the quality of the fabric. Linen is one of the oldest woven fabrics in human history and was once considered suitable only for royalty. Here is a list of the samples I revived & my thoughts about it.

EGYPTIAN – This is a very soft & light weight almost sheer fabric. I would be using this fabric for creating lightweight period undergarments. It’s nice & light & airy so it is perfect for use under many layers.

ITALY – This one again is a light weight fabric. It’s just a bit thicker & not so shear as the Egyptian. I would be using this fabric when a more solid undergarment is needed. I would also use this fabric for lightweight under skirts. It really is a lovely fabric.

IRISH – This is an excellent medium weight fabric. It has an excellent feel & would be perfect for making chemises & shirts. It’s weight makes it a perfect choice for warmer weather garb. Its solid enough to be worn alone but light enough to be used or layering.

BELGIAN – this is a wonderful medium to heavy weight fabric that is perfect for any number of period garments. It is light enough for the warmer weather but also heavy enough for when it stars getting chilly. It is also a great fabric for layering multiple garments.

BRAZIL – This is a nice heavy weight fabric that is perfect for creating tons of period garments & is the perfect fabric for the cool weather events

Pros:

Linen is an extremely durable fabric & has the ability to wick moisture away from the body making it a wonderful choice for creating period garments

Cons:

Linen is very prone to wrinkling & is a bit more difficult to iron than say cotton fabrics. TIP – ironing linen is easier when you spray down the fabric slightly or use a steam iron

I purchased this supplement to use in my weight loss regimen. I don’t think I have been using it long enough to know if it is truly helping me or not but will be continuing to take it for now. As with a lot of supplements, it really only shows any signs until after long term use so if I have any further observations in the future. I’m not getting any serious side effects or any reaction to it as of yet either.

Pros:

Raspberry ketone is a chemical from red raspberries (Rubus idaeus). It is most commonly used for weight loss and obesity. It is also used to increase lean body mass. Some people apply raspberry ketone to the scalp to improve hair growth.

Cons:

There isn’t enough information available to know if raspberry ketone is safe to take as a supplement. Raspberry ketone has never been scientifically studied in humans to determine if it causes side effects. However, there are some concerns about the safety of raspberry ketone because it is chemically related to a stimulant called synephrine. Therefore, it is possible that raspberry ketone might cause feelings of jitteriness, increase blood pressure, or rapid heartbeat. In one report, someone who took raspberry ketone described feelings of being shaky and a pounding heart beat (palpitations).

Special Precautions & Warnings:

Pregnancy and breast-feeding: There isn’t enough reliable information about the safety of taking monograph name if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Stay on the safe side and avoid use.

I would recommend this supplement for anyone looking to add an additional kick to their weight loss program. However as with all supplements, do your research before trying & if you have any concerns, contact your doctor for advice.

I purchased these mats because I do a lot of BBQ’ing in the warmer months & I love the idea I being able to do my vegies without them falling through. I was very excited to get these & went right away to try them out (first time using the grill for the season) & sadly to my dismay, it isn’t working.. (facepalm) So for the sake of the review I gave one of them to my friend who grills almost every night. Upon my inspection these seem to be a good product, but as this is my first experience with them I don’t have anything to compare it to.  I will update my review when I get a chance to use them myself as well. From what my friend says, they do preform as described & held up to the heat very well. They confirmed what I figured & they have said they prefer to do there meat directly on the grill but the mats work fantastically for vegetables. I have a good feeling that once my grill is fixed & I can get a chance to use the mat myself, I will come to the same conclusion. I did recommend something for my friend to try an idea I normally do in the oven. Acorn squash rings…3/4” to 1” with butter garlic & brown sugar cinnamon …slowly roasted in the grill… I was told they came out perfectly & where even better than in the oven

Pros:

A good large size at 16 x 13 Inch. Makes cooking vegies on the grill a breeze. These mats really are very easy to clean leaving your gill spotless or food protected form rusty grates

Cons:

When cooking meats like burgers, they tend to sit in the grease instead of it falling away causing them to be a little greasy.

Would be confident in recommending this grill mat to anyone who wants to add an additional cooking medium to their grilling experience. Even if you only use it for veggies or potato slices. There really are a multitude of things the mat would be useful for.

I purchased these because I take regular probiotic supplements & am always interested in trying new brands. Since I have already been taking a probiotic & tried multiple brands, I have a good baseline of I can expect out of a probiotic. I have been now using it long enough to get a feel for this brand. As far as I’m concerned, this works as well as most basic probiotics as I did not experience a decrees in probiotic effect. However, I am not sure if it lives up to the “advanced strength” as I did not notice any real increase in probiotic effect. I will continue to take this supplement until it’s gone & if there is any other change I will be sure to update my review accordingly

Pros:

The best support for probiotics is for reducing diarrhea, especially some kinds of infectious diarrhea and diarrhea associated with antibiotic use.

Immunity and colds/flu. There’s a close connection between the bacteria in your colon and the immune system—and probiotics have been linked to enhanced immune responses (such as to flu vaccines).

Cons:

Probiotics' side effects, if they occur, tend to be mild and digestive (such as gas or bloating). More serious effects have been seen in some people. Probiotics might theoretically cause infections that need to be treated with antibiotics, especially in people with underlying health conditions. They could also cause unhealthy metabolic activities, too much stimulation of the immune system, or gene transfer (insertion of genetic material into a cell)

Would be confident in recommending this probiotic to anyone looking for a good basic probiotic. I don’t know that I would say its “Advanced Strength”
